Are Cheaters Emotionally Dissatisfied?

Many singles tell me that their last relationship ended because their partner cheated. Many of them are even afraid to get involved with someone out of fear of being cheated on again.Survey says…..cheaters are emotionally dissatisfied. So, what is the reason people cheat, and is there anything you can do to lower the odds of your partner cheating? published results from a survey of 1200 mental health professionals who stated that the number one reason people cheat is emotional dissatisfaction. Sexual dissatisfaction was given as the second reason.

So what can a single dater do with this information? You can use it to approach your next relationship in a more emotionally available position. For starters, don’t be afraid to love again just because you’ve been burned. Every new relationship is a new opportunity. Take your past experience and use it as a weapon of knowledge.

In your next relationship, be open with your partner about what is important to you, and listen to his/her needs. Seek to be your partner’s best friend. Be the one he/she confides in without judgment or withholding from you. Be affectionate and tell your partner how much he/she means to you.

From the other side of the coin, don’t try to be someone you are not. Let your partner see the “real” you. Be honest about your own thoughts and needs, too. You certainly don’t want to get to the point where you are the one who feels emotionally misunderstood and seeking comfort elsewhere.

Like most good relationship advice, it all comes back to communication, communication, communication – even when you’re talking about the reason people cheat.
